‘Growing Hearts and Minds’

Our vision, ethos & mission

Happiness, Resilience, Courageous, Respectful, Pioneering, Excellence

Streatham Wells – a place where every child is welcome, where every child is treated as an individual and where every child matters to every member of staff. Happiness is amongst the most important things.

We are a small, caring and friendly school where children flourish, where all our teachers have a commitment to learning and the wellbeing of all.

Our school is like a large loving family where everyone is valued for their   own unique talents. We provide a firm foundation for personal development. Our children leave us as happy, well-rounded individuals with a deep love of learning.

Our children simply love coming to school; their smiles light up the building.

Our teaching  philosophy

We teach our children holistically, teaching the ‘whole child’ not just academically, but socially and emotionally, building strength of character, resilience and determination.

We empower our children to explore, learn and take risks through inspirational teaching delivered in a safe, nurturing environment. We challenge our children and each other to try things that haven’t been done before, to be the very best we can.

This pioneering spirit is celebrated within our school. Pushing oneself and the boundaries in a safe environment creates a shared halo with our children, building within them a sense of discovery, inquisitiveness, adventure and .

As teachers, we are constantly inspired by our pupils and we are driven by their desire to succeed.

Our environment

Our school creates positivity and forges positive relationships.

There is an energy of learning flowing freely throughout our school, a vibrant mix of ideas and creativity.

Our open-plan environment helps independence and confidence in our children. They move around the school at ease with each other, interacting and engaging, mixing with all age groups and all staff members. Older children help and become friends with younger children and vice versa.

We are resourceful; we use all our areas, spaces and facilities creatively, maximising them to their full potential.

 Small is beautiful

We are small and this is our biggest strength. We are “the village school in the city.”

Being smaller means we are more agile and quick to respond. We can instantly apply smart problem solving and logical thinking.

We truly punch above our weight, always staying one step ahead; we are restless, we keep innovating, moving forward, ceaseless in working towards being the best we can be.

Beyond school

Parents and governors are a vital part of our school and its community. They are actively involved in our initiatives, working together with staff as a team.

We have been established for a long time, have a positive track record and a rich history with our community and neighbours.

Our children are recognised in the community for the right reasons; they are well behaved, friendly and kind individuals.

At Streatham Wells we create good citizens of the future, who are able to deal with all that life may present to them.
