After School Club Details:
The governing body of Streatham Wells runs the after school club.
Your children will be collected from their classes and escorted to the After School Club. If they attend a club after school, they will be collected when the club ends. They will be able to access arts and crafts resources, construction, board games, outdoor games, imaginative play and many other activities. Each day will have a focus activity which will be displayed on the club notice board.
Our aim is for the children to enjoy coming to the club, to access the resources they want to play with and to help tidy up when they have finished with them. (Please note: children are encouraged but not forced to participate in group activities, e.g. board games).
A light tea will be provided, please see the menu displayed on the notice board. We encourage healthy eating. Please ensure you have completed the form informing us of any food your child cannot eat.
A typical tea menu:
- Jacket potato with choice of cheese/tuna or baked beans filling, all served with salad.
- Apples & pears
Children will be encouraged to help prepare tea and to help clear up.
Please ensure your child is collected by a responsible, named adult before 6.00pm.
We value your comments, ideas and support. We intend to consult parents and carers annually to improve our quality of service and hear comments to improve our provision.
There is a comments box in the reception area, we also have a ‘Compliments and Criticisms’ file kept in the office and we regularly ask parents to complete questionnaires about our services. Should you have a complaint please let us know. This will be recorded, the staff will then discuss the complaint and decide on any action that we need to take, you will then be informed. This will be given a date to review. If you feel unable to discuss the matter with us you may either record your complaint with;
a) Louise Salewski – Head Teacher, Streatham Wells Primary School or
b) Fill in a complaints form which you can find on the website under ‘policies’
Notice boards and the school website will have information about registration forms, events, timetables, contact information and activities.
Places are limited to a maximum of 16 children, both in the Infants and Juniors After School Clubs and children are looked after by at least two members of staff. Therefore booking is important to avoid disappointment. Ideally we recommend you book a term ahead if places are available.
£ 12.00 per session (from 3rd September 2021)
Other concessions may apply at the discretion of the head teacher.
Fees must be paid in full in advance.
Please pay via the School Gateway or by cheque (payable to : Streatham Wells Primary School) or by cash and hand to Mandy or Kate in the school office.
On the rare occasion that you may be delayed it would be very useful if you phone to let us know, we can also reassure your child that someone will be on their way to take them home.
Late fees will be charged as follows:
After 6.00pm – £10.00 per child + £10.00 for every extra 10 minutes
e.g. 6.10pm £20.00 per child
Due to our Safeguarding Children Policy two staff must be present while children are being cared for; therefore if a child is left after 6.00pm, we have to pay two staff for the extra time.
Our policy after 6.10pm is that staff will attempt to contact all phone numbers that you have supplied, if they are unable to contact a responsible adult who can collect your child then the next step is to contact Social Care at Lambeth.
Non-attendance at a pre-booked session at After School Club will be charged for.
On the rare occasion that the school has to close unexpectedly, i.e. extreme bad weather, the centre will also be closed and therefore no service available. You will not be charged in these circumstances.
