School Meals
Children can choose to have a cooked meal or bring in a packed lunch (except those attending full-time nursery who all take a school meal). School meals offer good value for money and provide a healthy, balanced diet. There is always a choice of menu, including salads and a vegetarian dish, and special diets can be catered for if we are given adequate notice.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 all receive a free school meal.
For children in Years 3-6, and full-time Nursery, dinner money is £2.50 per day. This can be paid weekly (£12.50).
Dinner money for half term (4th January – 10th February) is Ā£70.00
To help reduce the spread of Covid-19, please pay via the school gateway where possible.
Alternatively, you can pay in cash via the school office.
Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will receive a free lunch from 3rd September 2014.
School meals must be paid for weekly in advance on Monday mornings. If you think your child may be entitled to free school meals, please fill in an application form available from the school office.
PACKED LUNCHES
Packed lunches should also be nutritionally well balanced. They should not include sweets, fizzy drinks or drinks in glass containers. Please remember we are a nut-free school. Children should not bring in anything which contains nuts, including sandwiches made with ‘Nutella’ or peanut butter,
Whichever choice of meal your child makes, we ask that he or she sticks to that choice for at least half a term, since we have to notify our caterers of the number of meals required daily in advance of each half of the term.
Children in Key Stage 1 at Streatham Wells are currently all offered a piece of fruit during the morning break.
Part-time (morning or afternoon) nursery children do not receive a meal, although water and fruit are available.
