Black Lives Matter

Streatham Wells stands with the Black Lives Matter movement.

At our school we strive to promote equality and to celebrate the wealth of diversity that our small school boasts. We are proud of our ever adapting, progressive curriculum that is under constant review to ensure that our children and school community are represented: in the authors we read, the characters we explore, the artists we study and the history we learn.

We started this term with training on unconscious bias from lead lecturers at Goldsmiths University, who will be returning throughout the year to continue our staff development. We know there is still much to do and learn. We hope that through education, honesty and open-mindedness we can continue to learn and challenge the inequalities of our society. We hope that we can spark conversations within families, classrooms and communities so we can celebrate and recognise our differences and support each other to say:

Black Lives Matter
